Overview
Nestled in the majestic coastal mountains near Terrace, British Columbia, Canada, the mighty Skeena River is home to some of the strongest runs of large, wild steelhead and salmon left in the world.
For the 3rd time we’ll be hosted by our good friends at Nicholas Dean Outdoors. To say this is the best experience in steelhead fishing would be an understatement.
To complement their first class guides and fishing program, Nicholas Dean purchased the incredible Yellow Cedar Lodge in April 2020, to offer the finest in accommodations in Terrace. Right on the banks of the Skeena, Yellow Cedar Lodge – a Tourism BC Approved Accommodation – features large, vaulted ceilings to highlight impressive mountain views, numerous amenities and a large, wraparound deck for guests to take in the majestic riverscape.
Fall in Terrace BC…
This is the season that has made the Skeena justifiably famous. The Skeena’s Summer Steelhead have entered their home tributaries and the Fall-Run fish are pouring in strong and fresh from the sea. They average 8 to 15 pounds, though 15 to 20-pound fish are not uncommon, and each year fish over 20 pounds are caught. Plus, there is always a chance at one over 30 pounds!
In the Fall season, any cast in the fabled waters of the Skeena Watershed has the potential to connect with a world record steelhead. Our Fall Steelhead are surface-oriented and in the right conditions can readily be taken with waking dry flies.
